Your Mission

In the Project and System Team we drive the new infotainment platform for Mercedes-Benz cars. We steer the large-scale project of more than 25 cross-functional distributed teams and manage their interaction with stakeholders and suppliers, establish and maintain Agile processes, facilitate and support the project toward achieving long-term goals. 

As a Project Manager (m/w/x) in the team of experts, you will plan and track the development of software towards achieving milestone goals, refine the Agile Way of Working and collaborate with Scrum Masters and Product Owners to ensure the methods are applied. You define what drives value to end-user when it comes to details in feature scope and contribute to the feature implementation. Sneak preview of your future tasks

  • Review incoming Merge Requests (MRs) for completeness, quality, and readiness for integration.
  • Coordinate with the Integration Team to manage the intake of software components and ensure smooth integration into the main build.
  • Monitor, track, and follow up on bugs and issues identified during integration and testing phases, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Serve as a point of contact with customers for managing bug priorities, change requests, and delivery expectations.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate Project Delivery Plans, including timelines, milestones, and dependencies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Development, QA, Product Management, Integration) to ensure delivery commitments are met.
  • Facilitate regular status meetings, prepare progress reports, and escalate risks or delays proactively.
  • Work closely with release management to schedule and track software releases.
  • Ensure that customer requirements and quality standards are met throughout the delivery process.
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the software delivery process.
  • Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience (7+ years) as a Project Manager or Delivery Manager in a software environment.
  • Strong understanding of software development, integration, and testing processes.
  • Hands-on experience with Merge Request (MR) review processes and software configuration management (e.g., Git).
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla) and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Asana, Monday.com).
  • Ability to connect technical discussions with customer priorities and business needs.
  • Customer-oriented mindset with a commitment to high-quality delivery.

Your Profile

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Communication Technology or a comparable qualification.
Experience
  • Professional (including internships) experience in Agile Project Management or a start-up 
  • Understanding of agile and classic development processes and tools 
  • Hands-on experience with Scrum 
  • Solid knowledge of Atlassian Jira and Confluence 
  • Project management experience 
  • High degree of expertise and technical understanding for complex IT projects and software architecture, preferably for automotive infotainment systems. 
Nice to have:
  • Experience in automotive and/or infotainment products 
  • Software development skills (for example C++, Python, Java) and modern software development practices 
  • Experience with large-scale Agile frameworks (SAFe, LeSS, Scrum@Scale) 
  • Understanding of challenges and constraints within automotive domain and processes 
  • International experience.
